LGU-ISABELA CITY SUPPORTS 18-DAY CAMPAIGN TO END VAW

The City Government of Isabela, under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, through its Gender and Development Unit (GAD), joined the nationwide 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) on December 1.
As part of the campaign activities, the Regular Monday Flag-Raising Ceremony for December was led by the GAD Unit and featured an audio-visual presentation produced by the Philippine Commission on Women, facilitated under the leadership of City Information Officer and concurrent GAD Focal Person Mendry-Ann Lim.
Interactive activities were also conducted, including the Orange Scavenger Hunt, where participants searched within the immediate area for five orange items and brought them to the front. Another activity was a group trivia challenge, during which participants answered questions related to violence against women.
The 18-Day Campaign to End VAW is a national initiative aimed at raising awareness and strengthening advocacy against gender-based violence. Through this campaign, individuals are encouraged to take action in their homes, workplaces, and communities to protect women’s rights and help ensure a safe and violence-free environment for all.
The local government unit will conduct various activities from November 25 to December 12 to further raise awareness and reinforce advocacy against all forms of violence committed against women and girls. (With Photos by KC. Galos, CIO/ISATV)
