15TH SAKAYAN-KAALAMAN SESSION HIGHLIGHTS CHILD RIGHTS WITH SOLIDARIDAD IDF FOUNDATION INC.

The 15th session of the Sakayan-Kaalaman Reading Program 3.0 was successfully held on November 5, 2025, at Kaumpurnah Elementary School, engaging enthusiastic learners from Grades 2 to 6.
An initiative of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, the program aims to strengthen literacy among Isabeleño youth through twice-weekly reading sessions designed to bridge the community’s literacy gaps.
Conducted every Tuesday and Wednesday, each session consists of an hour of educational input from partner organizations and two hours of focused reading activities. Over the course of 20 sessions, mentors from the Youth Space Mentoring Program (YSMP) have been guiding students based on their assessed reading levels—fostering literacy, health awareness, and holistic well-being in alignment with the city’s developmental goals.
In partnership with the City Information Office (CIO), Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), and Solidaridad IDF Foundation Inc., the 15th session also featured discussions on child protection and the rights of every child.
To further encourage literacy, Solidaridad IDF Foundation Inc. distributed notebooks and books to Kaumpurnah Elementary School learners as a gesture of support for the program’s advocacy.
The inclusion of the HAPIsabela Mobile Library enriched the learning experience even more—promoting not only literacy but also a holistic approach to education and personal growth among young learners.
