LGU-ISABELA CITY WINS BIG AT 2025 LAYAG AWARDS

The City Government of Isabela under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, once again brought pride and recognition to the city after bagging multiple awards at the 2025 Layag Awards for Excellence in Local Governance, October 29 in Pagadian City.
Organized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) IX, the recognition was held in celebration of the 34th Local Government Month. With the theme, “PAGTIMBANAY: Beyond Boundaries for Open, Connected, and Empowered Communities,” the event honored outstanding local government units that have shown excellence in leadership, innovation, and public service.
Among the 78 submitted entries from the different LGUs across the region, Isabela City emerged as one of the top performers, taking home five major recognitions across 10 categories—a reflection of the City’s strong commitment to good governance and inclusive development.
Isabela City’s Winning Entries:
▪️ISABELA BRICKS – Champion, Environmental Protection Category
▪️Go Go Isabela Caravan – Champion, Citizen Participation Category
▪️IsaTV Channel – Champion, Education Category
▪️Bajau Women Weavers Association of Tampalan (BAWWAT) – Champion, Tourism Category
▪️HAPI Kidszone – 1st Runner-up, Gender and Development Category
The Layag Awards for Excellence in Local Governance, launched by DILG IX in 2022, serves as the premier recognition platform for LGUs that champion people-centered governance and sustainable innovation.
