DILG IX CONDUCTS ON-SITE LAYAG AWARDS VALIDATION IN ISABELA CITY

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region IX Layag Awards Regional Assessment Team, led by LGCDD Chief LGOO Alvin Rex Lucero, visited Isabela City, October 24, to conduct an on-site validation for the city’s entries in the Layag Awards for Excellence in Local Governance. The team was joined by LGOO II Louie Lyndon Romero and LGOO V Ronah Fe Tiangco.
As part of the validation process, the team personally visited the sites of the city’s flagship programs and initiatives, including the Badjao Women Weavers Association of Tampalan (BAWWAT), GoGo (Good Governance) Isabela, Isabela BRICKS (Building Resiliency among Isabeleños towards Clean and Keen Society) Program, IsaTV Channel, and HAPIKidszone.
The visit aimed to evaluate the actual implementation, results, and community impact of these programs while showcasing Isabela City’s innovative and people-centered approach to governance.
Through the Layag Awards, DILG recognizes local government units that exemplify excellence, innovation, and integrity in public service. Isabela City’s inclusion in this year’s regional validation reaffirms its strong commitment to transparency, participatory governance, and sustainable local development under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman.
