CNAO/CPMDO EVALUATES GARDENATOR CONTEST SUCCESS

The City Nutrition Action Office (CNAO) and City Population Management and Development Office (CPMDO) recently conducted a partial monitoring and evaluation of the Gardenator Contest in Barangays Marang-Marang and Diki on October 23. This initiative aims to assess the sustainability of urban gardening practices among the beneficiaries of the Kids Who Farm program.
The beneficiaries had previously received organic fertilizers, Chinese Malunggays, and assorted vegetable seeds to promote sustainable urban gardening. The monitoring and evaluation process sought to determine the extent to which the beneficiaries have implemented sustainable gardening practices through community engagement, contributing to a healthier and greener Isabela City.
Initiated and supported by Isabela City Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, the activity was led by City Nutrition Action Officer Jesielyn O. Puno, alongside Sir Muneer Hinay, Chairman of the Board of Judges for the Gardenator contest, and oversaw the monitoring process.
This initiative reflects the city’s commitment to promoting good governance and community development. By encouraging sustainable urban gardening practices, the city aims to create a greener and healthier environment for its residents. The success of this gardenator contest demonstrates the positive impact of collaborative efforts between the government and the community. (Words by S. Angging, CIO/Photos by A. Puti, IsaTV)
