NAGDILAAB FOUNDATION INC. JOINS SAKAYAN-KAALAMAN TO ADVOCATE AGAINST BULLYING

Continuing its mission to nurture young minds, the 14th session of the Sakayan-Kaalaman Reading Program 3.0 brought another day of learning and inspiration to Kaumpurnah Elementary School on October 22, engaging students from Grades 2 to 6 in meaningful literacy activities.
Spearheaded by Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, the program aims to strengthen literacy among Isabeleño learners through twice-weekly sessions that combine fun, education, and personal growth.
Each Tuesday and Wednesday, the sessions feature an hour of learning input from partner organizations and two hours of focused reading time. Mentors from the Youth Space Mentoring Program (YSMP) continue to guide the students according to their reading levels—promoting not just literacy, but also health awareness and holistic development.
In collaboration with the City Information Office (CIO), Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), and Nagdilaab Foundation Inc., the 14th session highlighted an anti-bullying discussion, empowering children to understand the harmful effects of bullying and encouraging them to foster a culture of respect.
Adding inspiration to the day’s activities, Councilor Asan Al-Ameen Camlian shared stories from his own youth, motivating learners to embody the values of discipline and compassion as future leaders of Isabela City.
The HAPIsabela Mobile Library also took part in the session, bringing a variety of books and resources that continue to spark excitement and love for reading among young Isabeleños. (Words by E. Banding-Hadjala, CIO/Photos by A. Puti, IsaTV)
