2026 ZPRAA TECHNICAL WORKING GROUP, COMMITTEES MEET ANEW

The City Government of Isabela, in partnership with the Department of Education SDO-Isabela City and the Local Organizing Committees, convened a coordination meeting, October 13, to discuss comprehensive preparations for the upcoming Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Athletic Association (ZPRAA) Meet 2026.
The meeting was personally graced by Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, underscoring the City Government’s full support and commitment to ensuring the success of the regional athletic event.
Also present were members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, who expressed their collective support for the city’s hosting efforts.
In her welcome remarks, OIC Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Maria Laarni Villanueva warmly welcomed the different committees and expressed appreciation for their cooperation and dedication in organizing the much-anticipated ZPRAA 2026.
The meeting served as a venue to address key issues, logistical matters, and inter-agency coordination needed for the event. Among the main highlights discussed was the “Parade of Lights: Parada ng mga Atleta at Saludo Pagtanghal,” a grand opening activity set to start at Mabel’s, celebrating the unity, creativity, and spirit of sportsmanship among delegates from across Zamboanga Peninsula.
Various committees presented their respective roles and plans. The Committee on Programs and Ceremonies outlined the parade flow and presentation segments. The Isabela City Water District committed to delivering sufficient water supply ahead of schedule, acknowledging that February—the target month for the ZPRAA Meet—is a high-demand period.
The Sanitation Committee will spearhead citywide clean-up drives to ensure a clean and welcoming environment. Meanwhile, the Committee on Security and Peace and Order and the Medical, Health, and Safety Protocol Team emphasized plans for crowd control mechanisms, designated emergency exits and ambulance routes, hydration points, and roadside clearing to ensure the safety and convenience of participants and spectators.
The meeting concluded with a strong sense of collaboration and optimism, as the City Government of Isabela, together with DepEd and partner agencies, reaffirmed their shared commitment to making ZPRAA 2026 not only a celebration of athletic excellence but also a proud showcase of Isabela City’s capability to host a safe, organized, and vibrant regional event.
