CSWDO ROLLS OUT CAS-FOR-WORK, EDUCATION AID FOR IP FAMILIES, CHILDREN

The City Government of Isabela, under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) led by Nor-aina Asmara, successfully conducted the cash-for-work payout for Indigenous People (IP) families and educational assistance distribution for at-risk children, October 8, at the Isabela City Civic and Cultural Center.
The event was personally graced by Vice Mayor Ar-Jhemar Ajibon. In his message, he commended the CSWDO’s continuous efforts to uplift the lives of vulnerable sectors. He emphasized the City Government’s strong commitment to social welfare programs that promote inclusivity and equal opportunity for all Isabeleños.
Prior to the official payout, Atty. Waldemar Johasan conducted an advocacy and orientation session on Republic Act No. 11596, an act prohibiting the practice of child marriage, and Republic Act No. 9231, which strengthens the law against child labor. The session aimed to raise awareness among Indigenous Peoples about their rights and protection under the law.
Under the cash-for-work program, 40 beneficiaries received P3,500 each, while the educational assistance program benefited:
▪️33 elementary students – P1,500 each
▪️35 high school students – P2,000 each
Through these initiatives, the City Government continues to reaffirm its commitment to the welfare of vulnerable and marginalized groups. The CSWDO remains steadfast in delivering programs that not only provide immediate aid but also empower families and children toward a better and more sustainable future.
