ISABELA CITY STEPS UP CHILD PROTECTION IN EMERGENCIES

The City Government of Isabela under the administration of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) headed by Nor Aina Asmara, conducted a two-day orientation on the Comprehensive Emergency Program for Children (CEPC) on September 16–17, held at ISAWAD Conference Hall.
Facilitated by DSWD-DRMD, the sessions covered vital topics including the Rights of the Child in Emergencies, RA10821 (Children’s Emergency Relief and Protection Act), localized CEPC guides, evacuation and shelter management, delivery of basic necessities, safety and security, health and nutrition, WASH services, resumption of education in times of crisis, establishment of child-friendly spaces through scale model activities and promotion of children’s rights.
The first day of the orientation concluded with the presentation of action plans, and a call for sustained collaboration to protect the welfare of children in every situation.
