TESDA, ISABELA CITY DISCUSS PRIORITY SKILLS PROGRAM AND COLLABORATIVE INITIATIVES FOR LOCAL DEVELOPMENT

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Zamboanga City–Isabela City District Office, led by District Director Omarkhayyam Dalagan, met with Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman to discuss key priority programs and strengthen collaboration for skills development and employment opportunities in the city. Also present were PESO Manager Aradelria Belleng.
During the meeting, TESDA presented its Priority Skills Map, updates on the City Technical Education and Skills Development Committee (CTESDC), and its proposed inclusion in the Local School Board. The agency also laid out plans for expanding Community-Based TVET (Technical Vocational Education and Training) to ensure wider access to livelihood and skills training. Another highlight of the discussion was the upcoming rollout of skills trainings in partnership with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO).
Mayor Turabin-Hataman welcomed TESDA’s initiatives and expressed the city government’s full support in aligning training programs with the local development agenda. She highlighted the importance of technical-vocational education in empowering residents and building a more sustainable economy.
