A DAY OF SERVICE 2.0

The City Government of Isabela, under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, through the Isabela City Local Youth Development Office headed by Local Youth Development Officer Levinia Jarejolne, in partnership with youth volunteers, conducted the “HAPIsabela Youth Volunteer: A Day of Service 2.0” on July 24, at the Isabela City Youth Development Center.
Basilan Province District 1 Board Member Ahmed Djaliv Hataman, CPT Ian Clyde Conde (INF) PA, and 1LT Jason Abayari (SC) PA were also present to express their support for the initiative. The activity was designed to empower the youth of Isabela City to actively take part in community development and volunteerism. It served as a platform for young individuals to engage in meaningful activities that addressed the immediate needs of the community while promoting public health, environmental awareness, and civic responsibility. The program underscored the value of volunteerism and the critical role of the youth in building a healthier, more vibrant city.
The event featured a variety of services and initiatives, including free haircuts, medical and dental check-ups, and PSA National ID registration. It also included bloodletting activities and learning sessions on HIV and adolescent sexual and reproductive health. To promote environmental consciousness and development, a community clean-up drive and urban gardening activities were conducted. Educational engagement was also prioritized through reading sessions with daycare children and further learning discussions on adolescent health.
The event brought together various partners who selflessly rendered their services, including the Local Youth Development Council – Youth Volunteers, City Health Office, City Agriculture Office, Basilan Medical Center, PSA Basilan, 19th SF Magnitude Company, 6th SF Battalion, Coast Guard Station Isabela City, Tau Gamma Phi – Isabela City Basilan Chapter, Philippine Red Cross Basilan Chapter, Lanote Bliss Daycare Center, and Basilan National High School Night.
The City Government of Isabela, through the Local Youth Development Office, extends heartfelt gratitude to all partner organizations, agencies, and individuals who contributed to the success of this meaningful initiative. Your invaluable support has made a significant impact, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration in serving the youth of Isabela City and fostering a dignified and joyful life for all.
