ISABELA CITY COMMITS TO EQUALITY IN PRIDE MONTH ACTIVITY

The City Government of Isabela, through its Gender and Development (GAD) Program was invited to attend a Ceremonial Ground Painting of Lingkatan, an organization of LGBTQIA+ community in Isabela City as part of the Pride Month celebration on June 27, highlighting its commitment to inclusivity, equality, and the celebration of diversity.
A heartfelt welcome message was delivered by Saudi Alasa, President of Lingkatan, who emphasized the need for continued efforts to uplift and thrive in the city. Representing Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, City Information Officer and concurrent Gender and Development Focal Person Mendry-Ann Lim delivered a short message, reaffirming the City Government’s dedication to inclusive governance.
Funded through the GAD program, the celebration reflects Isabela City’s continuous advocacy for gender equality and the empowerment of every individual, and upholding of basic human rights, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. (Words by SJ Asakil/Photos by M. Santos, CIO)
