CONSERVATION OF LEARNING ENVIRONMENT AND NATURE PROGRAM

To strengthen environmental awareness and improve waste management practices among students, the City Government of Isabela under the administration of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, launched the C.L.E.A.N. (Conservation of Learning Environment and Nature) Program across several schools including Maligue Elementary School, Old Camp ES, Hji. Camlami ES, Panunsulan ES, Bishop Querexeta ES, and Kaumpurnah Elementary School, on June 18.
The program was initiated by Community Affairs Associate Anna Sahibil under the supervision of General Services Officer Eugene Strong, in collaboration with Acting City ENR Officer Albino Orbecido.
C.L.E.A.N. aims to reinforce waste segregation at source to ensure a more efficient and sustainable waste management system for the city. Each participating school received one set of color-coded trash bins and five dustpans, all crafted by CGSO and CENRO personnel.
In support of inclusive engagement, the program also distributed five broomsticks per school, handmade by children from conflict-affected areas in Lamitan City, through the initiative of Dr. Arlyn Jawad Jumao-as. (Words by SJ Asakil, CIO/Photos by C. Digon, IsaTV)
