LGU-ISABELA CITY JOINS NATION IN 127TH PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

The City Government of Isabela solemnly commemorated the 127th anniversary of Philippine Independence with a simple but meaningful flag-raising ceremony held at Plaza Rizal, June 12.
Organized by the City Human Resource Management Office, the event was led by City Administrator Pedrito Eisma, on behalf of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman. In a message delivered during the ceremony, Mayor Turabin-Hataman reflected on the deeper meaning of independence in today’s context, emphasizing that the fight for freedom continues through the pursuit of good governance.
“The struggle for independence continues today in the fight for good governance, for leadership that listens, for policies that uplift, and for decisions grounded in public service, and not personal gain. It is a struggle that belongs not just to those in power, but to all of us,” the Mayor’s message read.
Present during the occasion were Isabela City Police Station Chief PLTCOL Raymond Sanson; 4th Special Forces Battalion under LTC Adolf Ian Garceron, INF (GSC) PA; Isabela City Fire Station under FSINSP Vincent Toribio; COL Frederick Sales, MNSA (INF) PA, Deputy Brigade Commander of the 101st Infantry Brigade; Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Jay Montealto of DepEd SDO-Isabela City; as well as employees of the LGU-Isabela City, representatives from various national government agencies, civil society organizations, and uniformed personnel.
The recurring theme, “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan” (Freedom, Future, History), serves as a reminder of the sacrifices of Filipino heroes and the continuing duty of every citizen to protect and nurture the democratic ideals that form the foundation of the nation.
