MAYOR DADAH SECURES FINAL TERM, VOWS TO CONTINUE LEGACY OF GOOD GOVERNANCE

ISABELA CITY, BASILAN – Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman has officially secured a fresh mandate from the people of Isabela City, winning her third and final term as the city’s Local Chief Executive. She was officially proclaimed on May 13th, along with newly elected Vice Mayor Arjhemar Ajibon, both members of the Basilan Unity Party (BUP). The proclamation ceremony was held on May 13 at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall and officiated by the City Board of Canvassers.
The Board, led by COMELEC-Isabela City Election Officer and Chair Atty. Mohaimen Ali, Vice Chair and City Prosecutor Atty. Cesar Bawasanta, and Member-Secretary Dr. Jay Montealto of DepEd SDO-Isabela City, formally proclaimed Mayor Turabin-Hataman as the duly elected Mayor following the successful canvassing of votes.
Ten elected members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod were also proclaimed on the same day, that includes: Re-elected councilors include Jeromy Casas (33,537 votes), Yusop “Benjo” Abubakar (30,452), James Abner Rodriguez (29,510), Karel Annjaiza Sakkalahul (23,066), and Khaleedsher Asarul (24,711). Joining them are new councilors Alexis Infante Ututalum (28,675), Al-Ameen Camlian (27,049), Jashim Tiplani, Sara Ismael (26,236), and Haizer “Sheng” Salain (23,765).
In her message of gratitude, Mayor Turabin-Hataman expressed deep appreciation for the continued trust and support of the people of Isabela:
“Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng mga taga-Isabela sa pangatlo at huling pagkakataon na pinili nila tayo at binigyan nila tayo ng mandato na ipagpatuloy ang mga nasimulan po natin. Eto po ay panalo ng good governance, panalo po ito ng wastong pamamahala.
Tatlong taon na lamang po ang aking paninilbihan sa inyo, kaya we make the most out of it. Lahat ng nasimulan natin ay ipagpapatuloy natin at sisiguraduhin po natin na maramdaman po ng lahat ng Isabeleño ang mga pagbabagong ipagpapatuloy natin.”
The newly elected officials will assume office on June 30, 2025, ushering in a renewed chapter of public service anchored on inclusive growth, strengthened governance, and a shared vision of peace and progress for all Isabeleños.
The proclamation was witnessed by the officials’ families, supporters, election officers, and members of the local community, all gathered in celebration of democratic victory and the continued transformation of the city.
With a fresh mandate, Mayor Turabin-Hataman and the new city leadership reaffirm their commitment to building #HAPIsabela—a city rooted in hope, harmony, and a happy and dignified life for all.
