Division Alternative Learning System (ALS) Focal Person Elma Ukung, together with City Information Officer Mendry-Ann Lim, met with Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman on July 29 to discuss updates and priority concerns on the implementation of the Alternative Learning System (ALS) in Isabela City.
Among the matters discussed were the proposed establishment of the Reading Center-cum-ALS Hub, updates on the LGU-paid ALS volunteers, who receive an honorarium of P3,075 while rendering service two days a week, and the ongoing repair of the ALS Learning Hub at Isabela Central Elementary Pilot School.
The meeting also covered updates on the establishment of school-based Community Learning Centers under the Bureau of Alternative Education, including the submitted proposal for the construction of a five-classroom building. Division ALS Focal Person Elma Ukung likewise reported that the city’s Accreditation and Equivalency Assessment passing rate remains above 50 percent.
The discussion reaffirmed the City Government’s continued commitment to strengthening the Alternative Learning System through improved learning facilities, sustained support for ALS implementers, and expanded educational opportunities for out-of-school youth and adult learners in Isabela City.
