FITS CENTER RECEIVES ICT SUPPORT FROM ATI-RTC IX

The Agricultural Training Institute–Regional Training Center IX (ATI-RTC IX) turned over approximately P80,000 worth of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and office materials to the Isabela City Farmers-Fisherfolk Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center on September 29 at the FITS Center, Integrated Diversified City Agriculture and Fishery (IDCAF) Farm School in Barangay Baluno.

The assistance was provided through the ATI-RTC IX Techno Gabay Program (TGP) to strengthen the FITS Center and support the delivery of agricultural and fisheries information and technology services to farmers, fisherfolk, students, youth, and other stakeholders.

The ATI-RTC IX team was led by TGP Focal Person Jeanny Nabasca, together with Rene Palabrion and Linoel Judaria. The materials were received by Engr. Nur Tasneem Salih, FITS Center Manager and City Agriculture Office Officer-in-Charge, with FITS Center Information Service Specialist Mary Cristine Morata and Technical Service Specialist Jerome Macapili.

The Isabela City FITS Center was selected as one of the recipients of the FITS Enhancement assistance among FITS Centers in Region IX, supporting its continuing efforts to provide accessible and responsive information and technology services to the agricultural and fisheries sector.

The assistance includes one laptop, four sets of file storage cabinets, one printer, printer inks, one external disk drive, two folding tables, and one Portable Collapsible IEC Booth Display. These will support the Center’s information management, documentation, printing, storage, and daily operations.

The additional equipment and furniture will also help provide a more organized and conducive space for farmers, fisherfolk, students, researchers, youth, and other clients seeking agricultural and fisheries information and services.

The City Agriculture Office expressed its appreciation to ATI-RTC IX and the Techno Gabay Program for the assistance, which will further strengthen the FITS Center as an accessible source of agricultural and fisheries knowledge, technologies, and information for the community.
